As ambassadors of High Country Chorus, we are committed to creating a musical platform for women to express and celebrate life and to enhance, inspire and elevate the lives of those around us. 

High Country Chorus of Sweet Adelines International is an exceptional organization for women in Colorado, located on the front range, who sing four-part a cappella harmony. The members aspire to musical excellence and personal growth through education, performance, competition, and friendship.

Why give?

High Country Chapter of Sweet Adelines International was chartered on May 1, 1955 and was incorporated in the State of Colorado as Aurora Chapter Sweet Adelines in 1962. On March 27, 1992, the name was changed to High Country Chorus (HCC). 

HCC is located in Lakewood, Colorado, with a membership of 65 singers ranging in ages from 18 to 83! HCC changes the lives of women of all ages in positive ways by providing educational and leadership opportunities. HCC is a strong supporter of the Young Singers Foundation and Young Women in Harmony, and annually awards scholarships to middle and high school students to attend the Summer Harmony Camp held each summer in Estes Park. HCC was the First Place Sweet Adelines International Champion in 1980 and 1987. The chorus has won many regional awards over its long history. As the current Rocky Mountain Region 8 Champions, High Country Chorus will be competing at the 2023 Sweet Adelines International Competition in Louisville, Kentucky. 

In addition to contributing to HCC as talented singers, our dedicated members serve in various administrative and leadership roles. A number of our members have also held positions on the Rocky Mountain Region 8 Board throughout the years. 

We enjoy sharing our gift of music in the community throughout the year, entertaining the public with annual shows and seasonal performances. HCC has sung The Star Spangled Banner for a number of sports teams, including the Denver Broncos, the Colorado Rockies, and Metro State University of Denver, and at Naturalization Ceremonies in Denver. Many of the 8 quartets and ensembles perform in the community at various shows, venues, and assisted-living facilities throughout the year. HCC especially enjoys Christmas caroling every year in the community for private groups and at local shopping venues.
